About

Hello, my name is Dmitry.

I am a native of Volgograd. I was born and grew up here, and now I live and work as a guide in this famous hero-city.

For almost half a century I have seen how the city was changing, growing and coming to prosper. I witnessed its downs and ups. I love my native city, so I am happy to invite you to walk along its streets, exploring sights and places of interest. I know a lot about Volgograd, its past and present, and I am always ready to share my knowledge with everyone interested in gaining new travel experience.

In my tours you will see not only popular tourist attractions but also the city’s hidden gems, not always or even never shown during standard package tours.

My experience as a guide

I graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages of Volgograd State University in 1991. The first experience as a guide-interpreter I received in 1993, when I represented the city to official international delegations attending the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad. As language instructor with Volgograd State Pedagogical University I also performed city tours for international students and visiting lecturers from various countries. Soon after I switched to different jobs in banking and management. But the love of guiding stayed through the years. Since 2015 I have been working as a freelance guide and interpreter with several agencies.
