Hello, my name is Dmitry.
I am a native of Volgograd. I was born and grew up here, and I now live and work as a guide in this famous hero-city.
For nearly half a century I have watched the city change, grow and flourish. I have seen its lows and its highs. I love my native city, and I am delighted to invite you to walk its streets with me, exploring its sights and its many points of interest. I know Volgograd well, both its past and its present, and I am always happy to share that knowledge with anyone keen to gain a new travel experience.
On my tours, you will see not only the popular tourist attractions but also the city’s hidden gems — places rarely, if ever, shown on standard package tours..
My experience as a guide
I graduated from the Faculty of Foreign Languages at Volgograd State University in 1991. I gained my first experience as a guide-interpreter in 1993, when I represented the city to official international delegations attending the 50th anniversary celebrations of the victory in the Battle of Stalingrad. As a language instructor at Volgograd State Pedagogical University, I also led city tours for international students and visiting lecturers from a range of countries. Soon afterwards, I moved into different lines of work in banking and management, but my love of guiding stayed with me over the years. Since 2015, I have worked as a freelance guide and interpreter with several agencies.
My tours and offers
I invite everyone to visit the most famous historic sites and discover the treasures of the Volgograd region. It is my great pleasure to offer excursions and tours in English around Volgograd and its surroundings.
I offer both standard and tailored excursions and tours, for individuals and groups alike.
Standard tours:
- A sightseeing tour of Volgograd by car, with a walking tour of the Mamaev Kurgan memorial — the main war memorial in Russia

- An excursion to the city’s northern districts, visiting the WWII memorials “Lyudnikov’s Island” and “Soldiers’ Field”, by car
- A sightseeing tour of the southern districts of Volgograd by car, including excursions to the Sarepta settlement and museum, and a visit to the Volga–Don Canal gates
- An excursion by car to the military memorial cemetery at Rossoshka
- A sightseeing tour by car to Volgograd’s satellite town, Volzhsky, and the Volga–Akhtuba floodplain
- A sightseeing tour by car to Kalach-on-Don, the Town of Military Glory.
